Are hair extentions a hassle and how much do they usually cost??

I recently cut my hair and its not a bad hair cut just a little short and I want long hair very badly so i thought of getting hair extentions in the mean time, but i was wondering if having hair extentions were too much trouble and how much they usually cost. I know that there are different types and i was also wondering what type to get. And does it look natural

I like them when my girlfriend wears them. She has no problems, but she puts them in herself. They look REAL!! Get real hair is the best, a package should run about 12.00-25.00 sometimes you need 2 packages. Usually shops charge around 50.00-100.00 labor to put them in depending on the area (state) you are in. Look in any oriental owned beauty supply place- the ones that are privately owned. The owner can help you choose the ones you need, then get somebody to put them in.

Well actually they aren't that much trouble you can keep them in 2 months and wash then daily. they are fairly expensive because it takes a long time to do the braiding. Also sometimes it is real hair!

i know that some girls at my school get it done, and it winds up looking terrible.. you can tell where the hair extensions are and they usually like the hair is thinning...

when i called about getting them, they said it was going to be like 80 bucks for a month.. but i personally think it such a hassle

Alright honey, here it goes. There are several ways to extend the length of your hair, all of which look natural if done well.

Weaves:

It's hard to turn on the TV without seeing a weave. A weave involves adding strips of hair to your head. There are two methods: sew-in and glue-in. They usually cost around $60 but prices can vary a lot.

Sew in weaves are done by first braiding the center of your hair in a circular French braid. If your hair is not long enough for a French braid the stylist can add synthetic hair. Strips or "tracks" of hair are then sewn into the braid. Your real hair is only exposed around the edges of your hair for a natural look.

Glue in weaves can be done with or without braiding the center of your hair. Tracks of hair are glued onto your hair using a removeable hair glue. You must use "bond remover" to remove the glue. Bond remover is a couple of dollars at the beauty supply store.

Braids:

Braids are an easy choice because once in they are undectable and versatile. (You can swim etc without fear of fake hair falling out) A stylist can add hair to braids using a special technique. French braids start at $30 while singles (hundreds of hanging braids) can cost $100 and more. You buy the hair at a beauty supply store.

Strand by Strand Hair Extensions:

Strand by strand extensions can be a very pricey $300 - $1000. The stylist literally adds a strand of long hair to each of your strands of hair. The look is completely natural, but not cheap.

Quick Weave:

You might want to consider a quick weave. A quick weave is like a 1/2 wig that you put on the back of your hair and cover with the front of your hair.

You can purchse beautiful clip in hair extensions made with 100% human hair and they look fantastic. You normally purchase a few sections of the extensions- usually 2 to 4 large wefts and about 6-8 small wefts of hair. The have a little comb attached to the top of them and you section your hair, slide them in and clip them shut. They take about 5 minutes to apply and about the same time to remove.

The wefts come in a huge variety of colours, it is best to purchase one similar to your own hair colour and then take it to a hairdressing salon where they can can colour it and add foils, etc to perfectly match your hair colour.

With clip in extensions you can colour, shampoo, straighten, curl etc exactly as you would with your own hair. They cost around about AU $300-450 for a full head of wefts but they will last forever.

I hope this is helpful to you

I also had short hair but wanted a little more length so I spoke to my hairdresser who is amazing. She adviced me to get human hair extensions and she would put them in for me. Once it was done it looked hideous!!! It felt like horse hair, there was little to no movement in it, if it did move it stayed in that position. This is my experience, not to put you off. The hair and glue was 鎷?0 and the putting in of them was 鎷?5 but I only had a fifth of my head done! There is an alternative to human hair which is supposed to be better but not sure. All the best!
