Really nice ones can be about 1300 or more. My friend got them for 500, though, so they may come cheaper. Yes, they hurt a little, because your hair is being pulled on and glued. If you've ever had your hair french braided though, you are fine.

get the caratine kind. ummm... my sister got hers for around $200, so don't get them at places where they cost like $1000.
